Off Balance from Over/Under Clinch

An Off Balance throw is a very effective technique when in the Over/Under Clinch in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Most people will defend the throws to the overhook side of the body and an off balance technique to the underhook side is a nice response. It can be effective as both a throw and a set up to other attacks (leg attacks, arm drags, of other throws).

Like most throws, you need the right look from your partner for this technique to be effective. If they are sitting back, this throw will not work. It works best when you hit it immediately when landing in the over/under clinch from a scramble and they are putting forward pressure into you.
